Petrichor's Story
Petrichor is the distinct scent that emanates from the earth after a heavy and much-needed rainfall. It is actually a modern word that means "blood of the stone"... and how does one make a rock bleed? Simply by letting a few tears flow, a long-held outpouring when pregnant clouds finally can no longer bear the weight any longer. Few things offer that sense of renewal and possibility like the scent and the feel of the air after much-needed rain. Dust is rinsed away from sidewalks and buildings, gardens perk up and trees let go of a long-held exhale. It's not just refreshing, it's a promise of renewal.
