A Simple Skincare Routine Using Stark Products

Although we sometimes love to do a deep dive and really get into the nitty gritty, the truth is that skincare routines should not be complicated. They can be as involved or as paired-down as you like, on any given day!

The first step is always determining what it is your skin needs. Take a moment to "listen" to it by touching it and observing. Some days require a little more TLC than others, and I promise that intuitively you'll know what kind of day it is.

Note that if anything in this particular routine is not the same as a successful part of your Stark routine, then please don't worry. You don't need to fix what isn't broken.

Morning Routine:

You may be surprised to hear me say that you don't need to wash your face in the morning unless you didn't do a good job with it the night before.

A splash of water is all you really need in terms of morning cleansing, but if you're seeing mascara flakes, your skin feels particularly greasy or you're having a breakout or you're seeing/feeling other signs of a particularly unwashed face, then a quick cleanse using ECLIPSE should do the trick. If you went to bed with a FULL face of makeup, you'll need to do a double-cleanse but also... girl. Stop doing that! Please.

Next, you'll want to address skin hydration. If you have stressed skin that is feeling dry, dehydrated or maybe even a little hot and bothered, then you need our little blue friend EQUINOX to set you straight. EQUINOX quenched even the most parched skin not with hyaluronic acid (so overblown!) but primarily with Sodium PCA, a humectant salt that skin simply adores.

If you live in a very urban area, have acne-prone skin and especially in the summer, you'll want to opt for PETRICHOR for it's antioxidant burst and sebum-regulating properties. Don't worry, you'll still get plenty of hydration with this gorgeous mist.

Next, you want that layer of protective moisture. For the daytime, my favourite is CITY. It's a brightening, antioxidant oil serum with vitamin C and niacinamide that absorbs quickly and leaves skin glowing, but not greasy.

If your skin runs particularly dry, you might want to add a drop or two of MIDNIGHT oil to your CITY application. Mix them in your palm and apply together. This combination works beautifully for anyone whose skin feels tight or looks dull in the morning. Yes, you can use MIDNIGHT in the daytime, but save DEEP MIDNIGHT for night time, as it contains retinol which makes skin more sensitive to the sun.

The final morning step? SPF. Always. You know this already, but I'm saying it anyway because consistency matters more than perfection.

Evening Routine:

Your evening routine does the heavy lifting. This is when your skin repairs and regenerates, so you want to give it the right tools.

Start with a double cleanse if you wore makeup or sunscreen during the day. Use either AURORA or BOREAL as your first cleanse to break down these protective barriers. AURORA works beautifully as an oil-based balm that melts into skin. Follow with ECLIPSE as your second cleanse. This two-step process ensures you're actually clean without over-cleansing. The gentle enzymes in ECLIPSE break down any remaining residue while the buffering ingredients keep irritation at bay.

If you only wore light makeup or no makeup at all, ECLIPSE alone will handle the job perfectly.

After cleansing, assess what your skin needs. Has it been a stressful day? Are you dealing with hormonal changes? Did you spend time in air conditioning or heating? Your skin will tell you what it needs if you pay attention.

For most evenings, EQUINOX provides the perfect base layer of hydration. Pat it onto damp skin and let it absorb for a moment before moving to the next step.

Now for your treatment oil. MIDNIGHT is your workhorse here. It supports your skin's natural repair processes while you sleep. The blend of botanical oils works with your skin's circadian rhythm rather than against it.

If you're dealing with congestion or your skin feels particularly reactive, you might alternate with PETRICHOR on some evenings. The antimicrobial properties help balance your skin's microbiome without disruption.

Adapting Your Routine:

Your skin changes daily based on hormones, weather, stress levels, and countless other factors. The beauty of a simple routine lies in its flexibility.

Feeling particularly dry? Add an extra drop of EQUINOX or spritz of PETRICHOR before your oil application. Dealing with summer heat and humidity? EQUINOX alone might be enough moisture for your evening routine. Skin feeling sensitized? Skip any active treatments and focus purely on hydration and barrier support, such as with SOLSTICE.

What works for your skin in January might not serve you in July. What your skin needs during a stressful work period differs from what it needs during a relaxing vacation. This adaptability prevents the sensitization that comes from rigid routines that don't account for your skin's natural fluctuations.

The goal isn't perfection. It's resilience. Your skin should feel comfortable, balanced, and ready to handle whatever the day brings. Simple routines that you can adjust based on your skin's current needs will always outperform complicated regimens that ignore your skin's natural rhythms.
