Remove everything in one pass - Waterproof mascara, mineral sunscreen, urban pollution, stage makeup. Melts on contact, emulsifies with water, rinses clean.

Work as your night moisturizer - After cleansing, apply again and leave on. Kokum butter, mango seed butter, and sea buckthorn oil deliver barrier support while you sleep.

Double as spot treatment - Dry patches, cuticles, anywhere needing immediate moisture. Press small amount into skin, and let it absorb.

Stay gentle on eyes - Apply directly to remove eye makeup without blurring vision or irritation. Works for chronically dry, sensitive eyes.

How do I use Aurora as a cleanser?

To remove makeup and SPF:
Massage a chickpea-sized amount onto dry skin. Add warm water to emulsify, and use a dampened washcloth to remove makeup. Can be used to safely remove waterproof eye makeup, even on sensitive eys. Rinse thoroughly. Skin will feel dewy, not stripped.

As a cleansing milk: As a "second cleanse" or "skin cleanse" (ie. step 2 of the double cleansing method), you can apply a small amount of Aurora to wet skin, or emulsify a chickpea sized dab of Aurora in the palm on your hand with a few drops of warm water. The balm will transform into a milky cream cleanser.

How do I use Aurora as a leave-on product?

Simple! Aurora can replace your regular moisturizer.

On clean, preferably damp skin, massage on a small amount of Aurora, and increase as needed. A little goes a long way! Can be applied to face, body, hands, etc.

As a moisture mask, layer a thicker layer over a hydration serum (like our Equinox), and leave on as desired.

Can be used day or night.

Is Aurora right for me?

Everyone's skin is so unique, but Aurora has been a customer favourite since 2011, is often repurchased multiple times, and has been used by all skin types of all ages, in different climates, including sensitive and acne-prone.

Those with balanced to dry skin will love it best, as well as during colder and drier seasons.

For very sensitive skin, I'd recommend the unscented version.

What do the ingredients in Aurora do?

Here is the full ingredients list. (Please note that the unscented version does not contain the essential oils.)

Cucurbita Pepo (Pumpkin) Seed Oil: Rich in zinc and omega fatty acids, it dissolves makeup and buildup while feeding skin the nutrients it needs to stay balanced.

Garcinia Indica (Kokum) Butter: One of the firmest plant butters, it gives the balm its satisfying melt-on-contact texture while softening skin without clogging pores.

Theobroma Cacao (Organic Cocoa) Butter: A deeply emollient butter that cushions skin during cleansing so your face never feels stripped or tight afterward.

Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter: Lightweight yet nourishing, it helps the balm rinse away impurities while leaving behind a soft, conditioned finish.

Astrocaryum Tucuma Seed Butter: An Amazonian butter rich in lauric acid that melts quickly on skin, helping lift away sunscreen and long-wear makeup.

Glycine Soja (Non-GMO Soybean) Butter: High in vitamin E and lecithin, it supports the skin barrier so cleansing feels comforting rather than depleting.

Camellia Sinensis (Organic Green Tea) Seed Oil: A fast-absorbing antioxidant oil that protects skin from environmental stress while gently loosening the day's grime.

Hippophae Rhamnoides (Supercritical CO2 Seabuckthorn) Fruit Oil: A potent source of rare omega-7 and carotenoids that calms and replenishes skin as you cleanse.

Cetyl Alcohol: A plant-derived fatty alcohol (not a drying alcohol) that gives the balm its smooth, creamy glide.

Daucus Carota (Carrot) Root Extract: Naturally rich in beta-carotene, it supports skin renewal and lends the balm its warm golden hue.

Bisabolol: The soothing heart of chamomile, it calms redness and irritation, making this balm gentle enough for sensitive skin.

Hi, I'm Jess. I make Aurora myself, by hand, in small batches, in the Ottawa Valley.

I've been formulating for fifteen years now, and Aurora is one of my formulas that I'm most attached to. Every jar passes through my hands before it goes out (because each is handmade, and shipped, by me!), and I still get a little quiet thrill watching a batch come together, even after all this time.

A rich, emollient butter that softens and protects without clogging pores. High in oleic and stearic acids, it restores flexibility to dry, tight skin. Absorbs more readily than you'd expect from a butter this nourishing.
